DC Comics Trading Card Game Press Release

CARLSBAD, Calif. - Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) presents the new DC Comics Trading Card Game, featuring classic DC Comics characters such as Batman, Superman, The Joker, Catwoman, Teen Titans and many more. The Batman vs. The Joker 80-card starter decks (two 40 card decks), and the DC Comics Origins booster pack will utilize UDE's new Vs. Game System, and is currently available at participating hobby and retail stores nationwide.

The DC Comics TCG spotlights DC Comics' signature teams such as Gotham Knights, Arkham Inmates, and League of Assassins, to name a few. Additionally, the game utilizes DC Comics' timeless character library to create a special line of trading card that will feature the ever-popular characters in skillfully drawn renderings. Each card will contain all original artwork by many of the biggest names in the industry.

In the DC Comics TCG, each player begins the game with 50 endurance points, which represent the staying power of that player's team of heroes. The object of the game is to reduce your opponent's endurance points to zero.

The Vs. System – UDE's new and unique game engine designed specifically to support Super Heroes in traditional one-on-one competition -- will appear in the new DC Comics TCG. The game retains excitement in multiplayer play, and is designed to support sealed-pack and booster draft formats. Development of the game included testing by top professional TCG players from around the world to ensure that the Vs. System is carefully balanced for high-level competition, as well as casual play.

DC Comics TCG fans can sample the new set and test their skills at the first $1 million Pro Circuit stop at Gen Con Indy this month. UDE will host additional Vs. System Pro Circuit tournaments, an extensive international Vs. System rollout, and the first Vs. System U.S. Nationals later this year.
